Rural Transports’ Livestock business is structured around a large clientele throughout Mid Canterbury, Mackenzie Country and the Waitaki Valley specialising in lamb, sheep, cattle and deer cartage to and from farms, sales and the works. There’s not much we don’t cart at Rural Transport; with a comprehensive fleet covering the South Island we have the type of vehicle required to sort your bulk cartage needs. Our Bath Tub units are also sealed water tight for any liquid based loads and four Blower Trucks with pneumatic blower technology completes our range for your bulk cartage requirements. We can cart wheat, barley, dairy product, sawdust, woodchip, dairy pads, coal and animal bi-product. With our configuration of trucks we can cart anything, anywhere.

Augers
Rural Transport has five Augers designed to assist with emptying your farm silos, whether they are flat bottom, V bottom or Rockets, we can empty them all.  We also have a Tubulator to assist in movements of peas and specialty seeds to avoid damage or cracking.

Grain Vac
Leaving a silo spotless is what our Grain Vac does best, providing safety and a dust free environment.  It cleans not only the bottom but the corners of silos easily and quickly. The Grain Vac can be used on most grains including barley, wheat and peas.

Our spreading fertiliser fleet offer 2 4×4 units with Duals, 2 x 6 wheeler lime units, and a Mini -single tyres with 4×4, all using Tabula and Whitehead or Farm scan computer GPS equipment providing essential proof of placement. In addition, we have added a 4000 litre dual boom Tow N Fert liquid fertiliser spray machine which sits behind our Case tractor. This also runs Tabula for proof of placement.
We offer you to choose a day of the week for the duration of the season and we will be at your place on that day each week weather permitting, which offers certainty for your operation.
Our company is Spread Mark accredited with experienced trained drivers and trucks Spread Mark certified yearly.

We have four blower trucks for grains and stock feeds which are equipped with an on-board blower system for blowing the feed through a tube which is attached to the silo. This saves the farmer having to provide an auger as we can easily unload ourselves.

 Rural Transport Ltd carries general freight such as hay, silage, machinery, palletised goods and wool amongst other things. Our team of competent and experienced drivers are able to complete any rural based requirements, professionally and within any time restraints.
We have two full size Hiab trucks, with very experienced operators and all the equipment needed to deliver any freight that has Hiab requirements South Island wide. We also have a smaller local truck with a Hiab available for local and farm deliveries. 

Covering the whole South Island on a weekly basis – this run offers the service of one very experienced and conscientious driver working with purpose built late model gear, doing the whole job so there is no multi handling of your freight, thus reducing the risk of damage or loss.

At our Ashburton depot we also offer short & long term storage and managed warehousing.  This can be Bulk Products, Palletised Products and we can also offer mixing of bulk products ie; fertilizer and or lime mixes.

Silo Storage
Rural Transport has six 500 Ton silos and one 70t transit silo situated in Ashburton and three 250 Ton silos in Kurow. We have the capability to blow air through them if required and we offer short and long term storage options.  This also allows us to load out bulk grain into containers for transport via rail etc.  

Cool Store
We have a new, state of the art, 1500m2 purpose built coolstore capable of storing up to 4000 bins of produce within three individually controlled stores and an 800m2 covered loading and unloading area.

Kurow Stocks
Our Kurow depot stocks Coal, Cement and Shingle for your convenience which we are able to transport direct to you if required. Please contact Simon at the Kurow office on 03 436 0849 for any queries.

Woodchips
We are able to source and transport Woodchips, Shavings and Sawdust for your calf pens. This service allows the cost of the product and cartage to be all on one invoice.
